1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using famtri ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. The Service is operated by an individual developer.
2. Description of Service
famtri is a family tree creation and management application that allows users to:
- Create and maintain their own family tree
- Add family members with names and photos
- Update and modify member information
- Store family data securely in the cloud
The Service is not a full genealogy application and is limited to creating personal family trees with names and photos only.
3. Account Registration and Security
To use the Service, you must register for an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
The Service uses JWT (JSON Web Token) authentication to secure your account and session data.
4. Privacy and Data Visibility
Your family tree and all associated content are private to you. No other users can view or access your family tree data unless you explicitly grant them access through future sharing features (if implemented).

5. Service Access and Physical Product Pricing
5.1 Free Online Service
Creating and maintaining your family tree online is completely free. There are no subscription fees, monthly charges, or ongoing costs to use the digital features of the Service.
5.2 Physical Product Pricing
You may order physical acrylic wall art prints of your family tree. Pricing is as follows:
- Base price: $49 per copy
- Volume discount: Each additional copy ordered at the same time receives a $10 discount (2 copies: $88, 3 copies: $127, etc.)
- Prints: Made on premium acrylic material
5.3 Payment Processing
All payments for physical products are processed securely through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card information or any other financial data on our servers. Your payment information is handled exclusively by Stripe in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.
5.4 Order Fulfillment
Orders are fulfilled as follows:
- Processing: Physical orders are processed and shipped within 5-7 business days
- Tracking: You will receive tracking information once your order ships
- Shipping: Shipping costs may apply and will be displayed at checkout
6. Refund and Return Policy
All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, returns, or order modifications on custom-printed acrylic products.
You can update your online family tree anytime before placing an order. Please ensure your family tree is exactly how you want it before purchasing a print.
7. User Conduct and Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload or share illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe upon the rights of others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our explicit consent
8. Content Ownership and License
8.1 Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to the photos, names, and other content you upload to the Service. By uploading content, you grant famtri a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
8.2 Service Content
The Service, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by the operator of famtri and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
9. Service Availability and Modifications
We strive to provide reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue any aspect of the Service with reasonable notice
- Perform scheduled maintenance that may temporarily affect availability
- Update these Terms and Conditions from time to time
Material changes to these terms will be communicated via email to your registered email address.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of famtri shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Service interruptions or data loss due to factors beyond our control
Total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms and Conditions or is harmful to other users or the Service.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service should be resolved amicably. If necessary, disputes will be handled according to the laws of your jurisdiction.
